Mold Town Centre

Mold is a market town in North East Wales in the UK . It's just over the Welsh border, and is about 10 miles from the Roman city of Chester.

Mold MarketIt is generally a quiet town, except on Market day, Wednesday and Saturday, when the town bursts into life. (The Cheese man on the market is well worth a visit if you like cheese as much as me). In fact, a few of the smaller villages outside Mold only get a bus service into Mold on Market Day.

St. Marys ChurchAt the top of the High Street is St Mary's Church. (Seen in the background of  the Mold Market picture). This church was built over 500 years ago, and, although I'm not a very religious person, it is an impressive building.

All the usual shops can be found on the High Street and the adjacent streets. Numerous Tea Rooms and Cafes can also be found. The Cheese Straws from the bakers are well worth a taste (I've got a thing about cheese haven't I?).Mold Shopping Precinct

If your looking for a take-away in Mold, then I recommend 'The Big Fish', between the Bus Station and the bottom of the High Street, or 'Silver City', which is opposite the church.

For more information on Mold and St. Marys Church, visit http://www.mold.org.uk/ to take a virtual tour.

On the outskirts of Mold, is Theatr Clywd, which plays host to a variety of plays, music, comedies and films. See their website for a full programme of performances: http://www.clwyd-theatr-cymru.co.uk

The countryside around Mold includes attractions like Loggerheads Country Park and Jubilee Tower on Moel Famau, which can be seen for miles around. For more information, visit http://www.loggerheads.biz/.
